UNICEF Reports 180 Children Killed in Iran War, Urges Protection of Schools and Hospitals
UNICEF warned Thursday that approximately 180 children have been killed and many more injured since the start of military operations in Iran, citing a devastating February 28 strike on a girls elementary school in Minab that killed 168 students aged 7 to 12. The United Nations agency reported at least 20 schools and 10 hospitals across Iran have sustained damage, with twelve additional children killed in separate school incidents at five other locations. UNICEF called on all parties to recognize that schools and hospitals are protected under international humanitarian law.
