Senior Bedouin IDF Officer Indicted for Smuggling Goods into Hamas-Controlled Gaza

A high-ranking Bedouin Israeli military officer has been indicted on charges of participating in a scheme to smuggle goods worth millions of shekels into the Gaza Strip, according to an indictment filed Thursday in Haifa District Court. The officer and four Bedouin civilians are accused of using two trucks to transport contraband into Hamas-controlled Gaza, and the officer is further accused of facilitating the illegal entry of one co-defendant into the territory. Three of the co-defendants reportedly have close personal ties to the officer.
