Iran's Advanced Shahid Soleimani-Class IRGC Catamaran Warship Sunk in Operation Epic Fury

The IRGC Navy catamaran IRIS Shahid Sayyad Shirazi (FS313-03), one of Iran's most advanced Shahid Soleimani-class warships, was struck, set ablaze, and sunk as part of Operation Epic Fury, with footage captured by U.S. surveillance aircraft confirming the attack. The Department of Defense confirmed the strike on the vessel, which was equipped with vertical launch systems for air defense missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, gun systems, and a flight deck. The sinking comes after a U.S. submarine launched a historic torpedo strike against the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena, and satellite imagery also shows two additional frigates and a Kilo-class submarine destroyed at Iran's Bandar Abbas naval base, leading analysts to conclude Iran's naval force is effectively decimated.
