Defense Executives Invited to White House to Discuss Munitions Replenishment Amid Iran Strikes
President Trump is expected to meet Friday with major defense contractors and component suppliers at the White House to discuss accelerating munitions production expended during ongoing strikes against Iran. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth asserted that U.S. stockpiles of precision weapons and Patriots "remain extremely strong," while General Dan Caine stated the military has "sufficient precision munitions for the task at hand." Democratic lawmakers, including Sen. Mark Kelly, raised concerns about long-term supply sustainability as U.S. Central Command shifts from large standoff strike packages to precision weapons such as JDAMs and Hellfire missiles. A supplemental funding request to replenish weapons stocks could exceed $50 billion.
